R-Undelete – Recover Accidentally Deleted Files
It is not something we are proud to admit, but any one of us at some time deleted a file confident in the fact that it is no longer necessary. Then moments later we realized that we need that file. I know it happened to me a couple of times – but it did not sweat it when that happened. Why you ask? Because I did what I always do; I turned to software for help.
There are applications out there that specialize in data recovery. This means they will bring the files you deleted by accident back to life. One such application is the R-Tools Technology Inc-developed R-Undelete.
Thanks to R-Undelete, you will be able to recover files from local logical disks. You will be able to recover regular files, compressed files, and encrypted files. You will also be able to recover files from damaged or deleted partitions. R-Undelete provides support for the following file systems: FAT12/16/32, NTFS, NTFS5, Ext2/Ext3 FS.
To estimate your chances of recovering a multimedia file, R-Undelete comes with a handy preview function. You can preview graphic files, audio files or audio files that you accidentally deleted.
R-Undelete is in fact a lighter version of another R-Tools developed application – R-Studio. R-Studio is a powerful data recovery tool, an advanced RAID reconstruction module, a feature-rich text and hexadecimal editor, and a disk copying and imaging module. We’ve covered R-Studio here.
If you decide to get R-Undelete and put it through its paces, here are a few more details you need to know about. First of all you need to know that the download weighs in at close to 6MB. Then you need to know that R-Undelete works with a all versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system, including the latest iteration, Windows 7. R-Undelete is not freeware – you can use the application free of charge, but it will not recover files larger than 64KB.
